Because almost every job ad in the Phoenix metro area requires that you know how to use Dentrix!

Dentrix is the leading dental software program used in the state of Arizona. Dentrix is a computer program used in dental offices as a patient database. It’s also used for scheduling, billing, charting, treatment planning and insurance management.

When you are researching Dental Assisting Schools in Phoenix, one of your first questions should be: Do you teach Dentrix Software? Altrain Dental Assisting Academy offers training on Dentrix Software training. You can review our course outline for more information at http://www.altraindental.com/dental_courses.php

Even if the office you work for uses another program or has their own. You will have been trained on the leading software program and have the ability to sell yourself in a job interview by simply stating: I am familiar with Dentirx, I am a fast learner and I am confident I will be able to learn this program with little training.

X-ray certification is a license to take x-rays. In order to legally operate dental x-ray equipment and perform dental radiologic procedures in the state of Arizona, a dental assistant must hold a current Arizona Board-approved certificate in radiology. To qualify, one must: (1a) Pass the national DANB Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) exam and (1b) Receive the Arizona Radiologic Proficiency Certificate, issued by DANB. “Acceptance of DANB Exams in Arizona” DANB.org n.d. 2011. September 29, 2011 http://danb.org/main/stateacceptanceinfo.asp?Location=Arizona

X-ray certification is the number one entry level job requirement for Dental Assistants. Altrain Dental Assisting Academy thoroughly prepares you for the DANB x-ray certification national exam. The best part is once you pass this exam, you’ll never have to take it again. You are licensed in the state of Arizona and there are no annual fees or continuing education requirements to keep your license.

When researching Dental Assisting Schools, be sure that the school is properly preparing you for the exam. Be sure to ask questions like: How many hours of lecture are spent preparing me for the x-ray exam? What is your percentage of pass rate on the first time of the exam? Or ask to speak to a former student regarding their experience on the exam?

No! 13 week dental assisting programs are run all across the county and have been in business for over 10 years. All private postsecondary schools in Arizona are required to be licensed by the Arizona Department for Private Postsecondary Education. The licensing process is very stringent and the rules are strictly enforced. You cannot legally operate a school in the State of Arizona, without the program being approved.

13 week programs are designed to focus on hand-on training. This allows them to provide you with the skills actually needed in a dental office setting, such as: chairside assisting, taking x-rays and impressions, performing coronal polishes, and utilizing Dentrix Software. The Dental Assisting National Board regulates dental assistant in all 50 states. Each state has different requirements. In Arizona, dental assistants are required to become x-ray certified in order to take x-rays in a dental office and coronal polish certified in order to perform coronal polishes.

Altraindental.com provides you with the opportunity to obtain both of these certifications along with much much more.
